CHC40108 Certificate IV in Aged Care

Course Description

This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities within defined organisation guidelines and service plans. These workers:

  • Carry out activities related to maintaining an individual’s well being through personal care and/or other activities of living;
  • May provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people;
  • Work may include training and support to promote independence and community participation, which may be provided as part of activities and programs in a variety of settings including residential and centre-based programs
  • Report to service managers and liaise with professionals and other service providers;
  • May be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.

  • HLTHIR403C        Work effectively with culturally diverse clients and co – workers
  • CHCICS404A       Plan and provide advanced behaviour support
  • CHCCS305B         Assist clients with medications
  • CHCICS402A       Facilitate individualised plans
  • CHCCM404A      Undertake case management for clients with complex needs
  • CHCCS400B        Work within a relevant legal and ethical framework
  • CHCAD401D       Advocate for clients
  • CHCINF403D      Coordinate information systems
  • CHCNET404A     Facilitate links with other services
  • CHCORG406B    Supervise work
  • CHCOHS312B     Follow safety procedures for direct care work

Course Length

Classes are usually held over 20 weeks, with classes being held during weekends or evenings. That way, you won’t need to miss your day job or school. Our classes are interactive, fun and our trainers are there to help you.

Our Location

Our courses are delivered face to face. This means you will have the opportunity to attend classes and be taught by professional trainers who have experience in this industry. All courses are held at 66-68 Dudley Street, West Melbourne (located close to transport and shops).

Our training facility has the latest in care equipment so you will gain relevant experience using the right equipment.
